REP. NADLER VOTES TO FINALIZE $14,392,279 FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS IN NY-12

Today, Representative Nadler voted to finalize $14,392,279 in Community Project Funding that he previously secured for New York’s 12th District in the 2024 government spending bills. This funding, included in the first of the appropriations government funding packages, responds directly to some of the most pressing needs in Manhattan.

“I am incredibly proud of my work to bring back over $14 million in Community Project Funding back to New York's 12th District. These investments will have a profound impact on our community–from modernizing public housing and parks, to safer streets and expanded public transit. All together, this funding will make our community healthier, safer, and stronger.”

Rep. Nadler championed funding for 14 projects that will directly benefit New York’s 12th District residents. These include:

  • $1,666,279 for NYCHA Amsterdam Houses Roof Tank Replacement
  • $1,250,000 for Accessible Pedestrian Signals
  • $1,000,000 for 23rd St Crosstown SBS
  • $1,000,000 for 3rd Avenue Midtown Gateway Street Improvements
  • $1,000,000 for 79th St Crosstown SBS
  • $1,000,000 for Safe Routes to Transit 86th Street
  • $1,000,000 for Madison Square / Flatiron Plaza Reconstruction
  • $1,000,000 for Ralph Bunche Park Renovation
  • $1,000,000 for Broadway Boulevard Plaza (Garment District)
  • $963,000 for Digital Forensics and Cybercrime Investigations Suite
  • $963,000 for Large-scale Restoration, Research and Community Science Initiative
  • $850,000 for Elevator Modernization Project for the High Line
  • $850,000 for Joan of Arc Educational Complex School/Play Yard Upgrades
  • $850,000 for Reconstruction and Accessibility Improvements of Park Paths in Central Park

In addition to these investments, House Democrats were successful in removing harmful extreme House Republican policies from these funding bills that attempted to ban abortion nationwide, undermine the fight climate change, and threaten our national security. Instead, these final bipartisan 2024 funding bills will help keep our communities safe, fight inflation, and boost our economy. Taken together, the funding for New York’s 12th District and the funding increases for critical government programs will continue to grow our local economy and support our communities.

This legislation is expected to be signed into law by President Biden later this week. A detailed summary of the bill is available here.
